The Well-Spoken Woman:  Presenting Your Authentic Self

Presented By Christine K. Jahnke,  President, Positive Communications

The most effective speakers present their authentic self in the workplace and beyond. The ability to state your ideas effectively and deliver with confidence enhances your standing with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Speech coach Chris Jahnke teaches practical skills to demystify what it takes to be present your best self. Whatever it is about your speaking style, she can help you improve.

The interactive workshop will focus on best practices to make the most of the forums where you want to shine – client presentations, business development opportunities, staff meetings, public hearings, and more. Learn how to:

- Develop your signature style
- Express your ideas with confidence
- Hold the floor and handle interruptions
- Conquer stage fright

A nationally recognized author, speaker, and consultant on effective communications skills, Chris Jahnke is passionate about helping women project with confidence before audiences large and small. Executives at companies as diverse as Avon, eBay, Intel, NASCAR and Northrop Grumman have turned to Chris for advice on how to be a compelling presenter.

Chris founded her training firm in 1991 and provides media and message training to leading nonprofits including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Sierra Club and Women’s Media Center. An expert in political communication, Chris worked with First Lady Michelle Obama, advised Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and has coached more women candidates and elected officials than any other trainer. Her speech and debate coaching have been featured on NPR, The Hill, Politico, Elle Magazine, and Washingtonian Magazine.

Right out of college, Chris was a local TV reporter and anchor in Minnesota inspired by Mary Richards on The Mary Tyler Show. Chris has said overcoming her own fears about public speaking forged her determination to help women raise their voices and motivated her to write The Well-Spoken Woman: Your Guide to Looking and Sounding Your Best.
