Cancellation Policy: WWLI will offer a credit for future events in the event of a cancelled registration.  Registered guests also have the option to send an alternate in their place, assuming the alternate meets the attendee criteria for that event (i.e., must be a member for a members only event).  Please contact [email protected] for questions or cancellations.

Join us for a conversation with female distillery and brewery owners and founders.  The event will include a panel of women from the following businesses:  Republic Restoratives, Tenth Ward Distilling, and Denizens Brewing Co.

Emily Bruno, Chief Administrative Officer / Co-Founder, Denizens Brewing Co.  Emily Bruno is co-founder and Chief Administrative Officer of Denizens Brewing Company with locations in Silver Spring and Riverdale Park, MD. Emily oversees the strategy, finances, and operations of Denizens' production breweries and taprooms. Prior to opening Denizens, Emily had over a decade of experience leading teams, training staff, directing and facilitating business process reviews, designing information technology solutions, and developing and managing programs at the U.S. Department of State, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the National Women's Business Council. Emily earned her BA from Boston University and her MA from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.


Sarah Mosbacher, Director of Finance and Founding Member, Republic Restoratives  

Sarah Mosbacher is the Finance Director and a founding member of Republic Restoratives Distillery, Washington DC's first women-owned distillery and the latest in a series of food & beverage-focused ventures to which she has devoted her business management talents.  Sarah is also the Finance Director for Salt & Sundry and her prior work includes FRESHFARM Markets, The Good Food Foundation, The Sustainable Food Trust, and Rise Biscuits & Donuts.  She holds an MBA from Babson College and a BA in Art History from Bard College.


Monica Pearce, Founder and Boss Lady, Tenth Ward Distilling Company

Monica Pearce started her career off in the environmental science field getting her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. She spent a year after college living and working in the Galapagos Islands doing conservation work and then remained in the conservation biology field when she moved back to the states to work and get her Executive Master's in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech. 

Monica stuck with her passion when she founded Tenth Ward Distilling Company by ensuring that all processes and practices are sustainable and leave the smallest foot print possible. Since having opened the business Monica founded the Frederick Distillery Association, is active with the Maryland Distiller's Guild as a board member and head of the marketing committee, has passionately lobbied and worked to improve legislation for her industry at the local, state and federal level, and recently was elected to the Frederick Tourism Council Board of Directors. 

Following the panel and not included in our event price, the Republic Restoratives bar will be open to our attendees (and the public) for those looking to continue the evening and/or those not participating in the tour.
