On average, women will have to work until March 31, 2020, to earn what men made in 2019. The pay gap is real and pernicious, and there hasn't been much progress in closing it in the past few decades. Cathrin Stickney, Founder and CEO of Parity.org, will share some shocking stats about the pay gap in the United States, why it doesn't just hurt women, and what companies can do to achieve equal pay.

About the Speaker:

Cathrin Stickney, Founder & CEO, Parity.org

Cathrin, formerly a high-ranking healthcare executive, consultant and adjunct professor, has been a women’s advocate for more than 30 years; but when she saw studies that found, at the pace we are going, “it would take >100 years for women to reach parity in the executive suite and on boards,” she immediately started down the path to create Parity.org to ask CEOs to take the ParityPledgeTM to simply interview at least one woman for every role VP and above. No quotas. No deadlines.  Since then, more than 350 companies have taken the ParityPledge, including Adobe, Oracle, Cloudera, Best Buy, Cisco, Lyft, Overstock, Ralph Lauren, RR Donnelly, NEA, and the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. Sony Pictures has become a sponsor. She wants to close the gender gap, now—not in a 100 years.
